Miss Samoa is the national Pageant of Samoa it is an Annual event dedicated to supporting opportunities for young Samoan women. The winner goes on to represent Samoa at the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant.

History

In January 1969 Miss Samoa established for the first time. The pageant is an annual event at the national level which is devoted to advancing and supporting opportunities for young Samoan ladies.

Samoa has been experienced at some International pageants, even hosted International pageant like Miss South Pacific pageant. Between 1975 and 1986 Samoa participated in Miss Universe history although in 1981 to 1986 the country used "Western Samoa" sash during the pageant show, it did not mean Samoa stopped, internationally. In 1975 Samoa also debuted at the Miss Asia Pacific International in the Philippines. Between 1977 and 1988 Samoa came to Miss World and never came back to the pageant since then. In 2014 Samoa returned at the Miss World competition with "Miss World Samoa" Contest which selects the official winner to the pageant.

Nowadays Samoa restores the national pageant to be bigger for Samoan young women. The winner comes to be a national goodwill ambassador in Samoa in under Laeimau Oketeni directorship.
