History

Philippe Corrot and Adrien Nussenbaum created Mirakl in 2011 to bring a solution to the issues of development and profitability that affects e-commerce today.

In 2005, they co-founded Splitgames, an e-commerce marketplace where members could sell and exchange video games. In November 2008, Fnac acquires Splitgames. Philippe Corrot and Adrien Nussenbaum created and ran the marketplace operations of Fnac for three years before launching Mirakl.

  • January 2012: Commercial Launch of Mirakl Marketplace Platform, first client implementations.
  • August 2012: Mirakl publishes its book "Marketplace: the future of e-commerce".

  • July 2015: Mirakl raises a $20 million Series B round of funding led by 83 North, the firm formerly known as Greylock IL. Felix Capital’s Frederic Court and Dave Strohm, a partner at Greylock and a founding investor and advisor to 83North. Historic investors Laurent Dassault and Elaia partners also participated.
  • November 2015: Mirakl launches office in Munich

    In 2012, Mirakl's founders Philippe Corrot and Adrien Nussenbaum published a book dedicated to the marketplace model. It deciphers the history of marketplaces, how it works, the benefits for a retailer and its challenges.

    In 2015, the founders publish a B2B version of the white paper, highlighting the major opportunity marketplaces represent for B2B players.
