Michael V. "Mike" Nelson (born June 2, 1954) is a Minnesota politician and member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), he represents District 40A, which includes Hennepin County in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. He is a carpenter by profession.

Early life, education, and career
Nelson attended Hennepin Technical College in Brooklyn Park for Carpentry in 1974. In addition to his work as a carpenter, he is a trades business agent for the Lakes and Plains Regional Council of Carpenters and Joiners.
Minnesota House of Representatives
Nelson was first elected in 2002 and has been re-elected every two years since then.
