Microsorum punctatum is a medicinal fern. Juice extracted from the fronds (leaves) of the fern is used as purgative, diuretic, and wound healing agents.
Water extract of the fern was found to have alpha-glucosidase inhibitory activity and cytotoxicity against a human chronic myelogenous leukemia cell line (K562).
