Micheal Donoghue is an Irish hurling manager and former player. He is the current manager of the Galway senior hurling team, having been appointed in December 2015.

Playing Career

Donoghue played on the 1992 All-Ireland Minor winning Galway side and captained Clarinbridge to the Galway Senior Hurling Championship in 2001.

Management Career

Donoghue became Clarinbridge manager in 2010, guiding them to their second ever county title defeating Loughrea in the 2010 final and going on to win the 2011 All Ireland Club title beating O'Loughlin Gaels.

He became involved with Tipperary's backroom team as a statistics man from 2014 to 2015.

In December 2015 Donoghue succeeded Anthony Cunningham as Galway manager starting in the 2016 Season.

On 3 April 2016, Galway lost to Cork in a Division 1A Relegation Play-Off by 2-22 to 0-25 and were relegated to Division 1B for 2017. On 3 July 2016, Galway lost the Leinster Final to Kilkenny on a 0-22 to 1-26 scoreline after having a three point lead at half-time.
