Michael Wenberg (born March 1956) is a young adult author from Spokane, Washington. He lives in Walla Walla, Washington with his wife Sandy, son Luke and was the CEO of the Walla Walla Symphony. Wenberg attended Seattle Pacific University and Eastern Washington University and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Gonzaga University. A speaker in elementary schools, Wenberg uses his trombone-playing to introduce children to his stories, reading, writing, and music.

  • Elizabeth's Song is a picture book of the true-life story of Elizabeth Cotten, the African American folk-singer and songwriter, who wrote the folk classic, "Freight Train" when she was eleven years old.
  • Seattle Blues is a story of a thirteen-year-old African-American girl who is sent away to Seattle, Washington for the summer. She's been sentenced to spend her entire summer vacation with a stranger-—her grandma. Before the summer is out, she'll make unusual friends and stumble across a treasure, a trombone once played by a long dead and forgotten grandpa.
