Meridian VP F.C. is an English football club located in Charlton, in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, London. The club is affiliated to the Kent County Football Association and is a FA chartered Standard Club. The club plays in the Southern Counties East League Division One and the initials VP stand for 'Valley Park'.

History

The club was founded in 1995. They started playing in the Dartford & District League in which they finished runners-up in 1999–2000. The team won its first silverware in 2002–03 in the form of the Bawcutt League Cup. The club had previously finished runners-up in the competition three times in succession. The club has also been runner-up in the Keys Cup once and runner-up in the Hospitals Charity Cup twice.

The club then joined Division three West of the Kent County Football League for the start of the 2003–04 season. Division Three West was disbanded a season later and the club moved to Division Two West, where it then spent the next seven seasons. The club were successful in applying for the Kent Invicta League and became one of the founder members for the 2011–12 season.

Meridian play their home games at Meridian Sports & Social Club, Charlton Park Lane, Charlton, London, SE7 8QS.

Colours

Meridian's colours are sky blue shirts, shorts and socks. The away kit is red shirts, shorts and socks.

Veterans team

The club also runs a team for older players. One player, Derek May, still plays regularly for the veterans team despite being 74 years old and scored his 1,300th goal in 2012.
