Ganesh has an undergraduate degree in Physics from Madras University and an MBA from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. She started her career at NIIT, and went on to work at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Microsoft. Customer Asset was acquired by ICICI Bank in 2002, and later re-branded as Firstsource.
After leaving Customer Asset, Meena joined Tesco. As the CEO of its India operations, she set up Tesco's IT and back office hub in India. She stayed at Tesco for five years.
Ganesh left Tesco to join Tutorvista, an online tutoring company founded by her husband, as a co-promoter. Pearson Education acquired a majority stake (around 76%) in TutorVista in 2009.
In July 2013, Meena and Krishnan Ganesh acquired Portea Medical, a healthcare firm based in New Delhi, after which Meena moved in as the CEO.
