Mediakraft Networks GmbH is a German Multi-channel network based in Munich. The company spreads and commercializes online-TV content and is an operator of YouTube creator networks in Germany. Mediakraft Networks maintains offices in Munich, Cologne, Berlin, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Warsaw and Istanbul.

History

Mediakraft Networks was founded on 1. September 2011 as a network from YouTubers for YouTubers and is regarded as leading German Multi-channel network (MCN). In August 2012 the former CEO of Endemol Ynon Kreiz entered Mediakraft Networks as shareholder. In October 2012 Mediakraft Networks startet Ponk, the first of 13 in Germany existing channels of the YouTube Original Channel Initiative. Meanwhile, the channel was stopped. In December 2012 Shortcut Ventures invested a seven-figure sum in the company. 2013 Mediakraft started international subsidiaries in the Netherlands, Poland and Turkey. On 10. Juli 2014 Mediakraft announced it has received overall 16 Million Euros (23 Mio. US-Dollar) capital from various investors. One of the investors was the Cologne-based media group M. DuMont Schauberg that is involved in Mediakraft Networks with two venture capital fonds. At the moment Mediakraft employs 130 staff.

Notable German YouTube channels that belong to Mediakraft Networks Freshtorge, Die Lochis, Bullshit TV and Nela Lee. Former Network members are inter alia LeFloid, daaruum, Simon Unge, Dner and ApeCrime.

At the end of January 2015 Mediakraft co-founder Christoph Krachten left the management due to disagreements about the strategic direction of the network. His tasks are now taken by Levent Gültan and Spartacus Olsson. Krachten however stays shareholder. On 20. March 2015 the company announced that Boris Bolz, former CEO of Red Bull Germany, will reinforce the management of Mediakraft Networks as Chief Commercial Officer.
