As of 2013/14, Nielsen Media Research ranks the Cleveland-Akron television market as the 19th largest in the United States. On October 20, 2007, Cleveland became the first city in the United States to have all its commercial television newscasts produced in high-definition. WJW was the first in December 2004; WKYC joined on May 22, 2006; WEWS started on January 7, 2007; and WOIO joined on October 20, 2007.
