The Mazda F platform is an automobile platform for rear wheel drive sports cars. It was the basis for three generations of the Mazda RX-7.

Prior to 1981, the platform was coded as "SA2" in the VIN. This was an evolution of the "S1"-coded Capella platforms that preceded the Mazda G platform.

FB

The FB chassis was a new name for the SA2 used in the 1979-1980 Mazda RX-7.

  • 1981–1985 Mazda RX-7 Savanna (coupe)

    • FC

    The FC platform was quite close to the FB. It also served as the basis for the Mazda MX-5's NA platform.

  • 1986–1991 Mazda RX-7 Savanna (coupe)
  • 1986–1991 Mazda RX-7 Savanna (convertible)

    • FD

  • 1991–1995 Efini RX-7 (coupe)
  • 1991–2002 Mazda RX-7 (coupe)

    • SE

  • 2003–2011 Mazda RX-8
