Mattioli Woods was founded in 1991 by Ian Mattioli and Bob Woods. The company was floated on the London Stock Exchange's Alternative Investment Market in November 2005 with a market capitalisation of £22.5 million. Since becoming a public company, Mattioli Woods has expanded through both natural growth and acquisitions. Notable purchases include Suffolk Life Trustee Company Limited, City Trustees Limited, Kudos Independent Financial Services Limited and Atkinson Bolton Consulting.. In June 2014, Kudos Independent Financial Services and Atkinson Bolton Consulting took the Mattioli Woods plc name through a high-brow rebrand.
