Matthew Justin Gay (born December 30, 1986) is an American professional basketball player who previously played for FIATC Joventut of the Asociacion de Clubs de Baloncesto (ACB) Liga ACB. The 5'8" point guard played college basketball for Rochester College before attending the University of Miami.

High school career
Gay played his first year at Pontiac Central High School. He played varsity basketball one year before leaving for West Bloomfield High School, where Gay played under, head coach, Larry Moore. There Gay averaged 15.2 points per game, 4.2 rebounds, and 8.7 assist per game. At West Bloomfield High School Gay earned Mcdonald's All American Nominee in 2004.
College career
During his first season at Rochester College, Gay was a leading scorer of the 2009 basketball team. Due to the fact Rochester College, was a 2-year college Gay played JV, who played smaller Community Colleges. Then playing varsity who played in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics schools and large universities. After leaving Rochester College for the University of Miami, Gay was ruled ineligible because of NAIA rules.
International career
Gay helped FIATC Joventut in 2011 play for a championship, averaging 9.0 points, 2.9 rebounds and 8.2 steals in 13.4 minutes in nine games for FIATC Joventut. Gay later returned home to Pontiac, Michigan.

Maria Gay is the mother of Matthew Gay. Gay has 3 children, two daughters and a son.
