Matt Kenyon (born 8 February 1998) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Sunshine Coast Phoenix of the Queensland Basketball League (QBL). He attended Hunter Sports High School in Newcastle, New South Wales before moving to Canberra in 2016 to play basketball for the Basketball Australia Center of Excellence. After a season in the National Basketball League (NBL) with the Brisbane Bullets in 2016–17, Kenyon joined the Sunshine Coast Phoenix in 2017.

Early life

Kenyon grew up in the Hunter Region of New South Wales and played junior basketball with the Gosford City Basketball Association. Between 2013 and 2016, he played for New South Wales under 16s, under 18s and under 20s at the Australian Junior National Championships. At the Under 20 National Championships in February 2016, he averaged 18.5 points, 9 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game for NSW Country.

BA Centre of Excellence (2016)

Following his performance at the Under 20 National Championships, Kenyon joined the BA Centre of Excellence's SEABL team for the 2016 season. Kenyon was the only player on the squad to appear in all 16 games in 2016, as he averaged 10.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.8 steals per game.

Brisbane Bullets (2016–2017)

On 27 July 2016, Kenyon signed with the Brisbane Bullets for the 2016–17 NBL season, a franchise returning to the NBL after an eight-year hiatus. On 30 September 2016, Kenyon was ruled out for one to two weeks with an ankle injury. After missing the Bullets' season opener on 6 October 2016 due to the ankle injury, he made his NBL debut on 8 October against the Sydney Kings. In 10 minutes off the bench, he recorded three points, two rebounds and one steal in a 77–73 win. In 17 games as a rookie, Kenyon averaged 1.9 points in 10.6 minutes per game.

Sunshine Coast Phoenix (2017–present)

On 27 February 2017, Kenyon signed with the Sunshine Coast Phoenix for the 2017 Queensland Basketball League season.
