Material delves deep into the experimental, electronica-based music trend ACO touched upon on her previous album Absolute Ego.
The album was produced by Sunahara Yoshinori from Denki Groove, Adrian Sherwood and Skip McDonald (who both produced Sinéad O'Connor). "This Woman's Work" is a cover of the Kate Bush song of the same name.
The album reached #19 on the Oricon weekly chart, and stayed on the chart for a total of four weeks, it sold approximately 25 000 copies.
