The Massachusetts College Personnel Association or MCPA is a regional organization for higher education professionals in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. MCPA is a subset of the American College Personnel Association. According to its mission statement-

'MCPA exists to promote the ideology and philosophy of individuals committed to student development in higher education. MCPA serves students by providing its membership with opportunities for professional development through educational and social activities. With a commitment to further serve our students and with a focus on student success and development, MCPA strives to bring together professionals from across functional areas and with varied years of experience, to promote communication, to create meaningful professional relationships, and to provide opportunities for members to explore issues within the field of higher education.'

MCPA hosts numerous events across Massachusetts on a variety of topics. MCPA hosts social events, conferences, and meet-and-greets for higher education faculty, staff, and affiliates.

Leadership

MCPA is governed by an elected body called the Executive Board. This board is composed of:

  • President
  • President-Elect
  • Past-President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Members-at-Large (four positions)
  • Social Media Coordinator
  • Membership Chair
  • Marketing Coordinator
  • Website Coordinator
  • Graduate Student Liaisons (2 positions)
  • New Professional Liaison
  • Newsletter Editor
  • All positions are held for two years except Presidents, who serve for three years.

    Membership

    Any professional in or around the Commonwealth of Massachusetts may be a member of MCPA. Members pay a fee and are given access to events and information.
