Dr. Amir Masoud Boroumand (12 November 1928 – 8 March 2011) was an Iranian footballer. He played as a forward and was the Iran national football team's captain during the 1950s. He also played for the Lebanon national football team for three years whilst studying in Lebanon, two years as captain.

Club career

In 1945, Boroumand he started his club career with Shahbaz F.C. which was Shahin F.C.'s Third Team. The following year he became a reserve player for Shahin F.C. and in 1947 he became a starter in Shahin's team and stayed with the club until 1958.

Whilst studying for a PhD at Washington University, he played club football in the USA and won the double 1958 Eastern USA Soccer League and Eastern USA Soccer Cup.

He has been part of Board of Directors of Shahin F.C. from 1984 until his death in 2011.

International career

He won his first cap for Iran national football team on October 26, 1947 in a friendly match played in Tehran between Iran and Turkey. He scored Iran's only goal in that match when Iran lost 3-1. He was the captain of Iran national football team during the 1950s. He participated in 1951 Asian Games and 1958 Asian Games.

He holds a bachelor's and master's degree majoring in management from American University of Beirut whilst studying in Lebanon, he played for Lebanon national football team for a period of 3 years. In his second year wearing the Lebanese jersey he became captain of the Lebanon national football team and became known as (Arabic: امیر الایرانی‎‎ The Iranian Prince). His most memorable game for Lebanon was against Yugoslavia national football team when he scored Lebanon's both goals in a 3-2 defeat to the aforsaid.
