Masha Nazeem (Tamil: மாஷா நஷீம்) is an Indian inventor. After creating her first invention at the age of 9, she has been the recipient of several national and international awards. Two of her innovations were successfully tested by the Indian Government.

Early life and education

Nazeem is from the Kanniyakumari district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. She has a Bachelor of Engineering in electronic and electrical engineering from Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering and a Master of Technology in Power Electronics from SRM University in Chennai.

Achievements

She has started a center - Masha Innovation Center- at Kanyakumari to develop inventiveness and creativity among school kids at free of cost. Six school students so far have won prestigious National awards for innovations through this centre. At the age of 14, she presented a research paper in a world conference attended by 46 countries. She was offered direct admission in the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research without undertaking the IIT JEE exam. She visited Japan as a guest invitee of the Govt. of Japan. In May 2015 Nazeem was one of eight students selected from India to visit Silicon Valley in the United States to receive entrepreneurship training at companies such as Google and Facebook.

She won 2 International awards, 5 National awards, 2 President's awards, 5 Southern India awards and a National Science Fellowship.
