Marv Tuttle (born December 17, 1954) is the former CEO/Executive Director of the Financial Planning Association, and is a Certified Association Executive (CAE).

Biography

Born Marvin W. Tuttle, Jr., and known as "Marv" professionally, graduated from Drake University with a degree in journalism, and in 1996 earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).

Tuttle first began his involvement with the financial planning profession in October 1983 as the Director of Communications in Denver, Colorado, for the Institute of Certified Financial Planners (ICFP), one of the predecessor organizations to the Financial Planning Association. By 1994, he had become the Associate Executive Director of the ICFP, in addition to serving as the publisher/editor of the Journal of Financial Planning, and succeeded Janet McCallen into the role of Executive Director of the FPA in January 2004. Tuttle retired from his role as Executive Director of the FPA in October, 2012, and was succeeded by Associate Executive Director Lauren Schadle.

Accolades

In 1996, the Journal of Financial Planning, under Tuttleā€™s guidance, was recognized as the Most Improved Magazine/Journal by ASAE for large associations in the United States.
