Martha Boto

Martha Boto (27 December 1925 – 13 October 2004) was a Argentinian artist. Boto was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In the 1950s she started showing her artwork. She was part of the tradition of South American Constructivism. Boto was known for her " investigation leads from the principle of repetition into the world of reflection." Boto moved to Paris with her partner, the artist Gregorio Vardanega in 1959. She is considered to be a pioneer of kinetic and programmed art. Boto died in Paris in 2004.
