On 28 August 2014, his contract with 1860 Munich was dissolved and he returned to 3. Liga side SpVgg Unterhaching after only a year.
Personal life
He is the son of former Germany international Manfred Schwabl, who is now also the club's president of SpVgg Unterhaching.
