Analysis

This is the most famous painting of Dominik Skutecký. The attitude of the artist's painting is formed mainly under the influence of Italian art. He lived in Venice, with few interruptions, from 1879 to 1889. What he learned there is well expressed in this painting. The picture is of a marlet of Budapest and reflects the typical Italian painting of the 18th century. Extremely important in his work is the light that radiates optimism, good atmosphere and mood. After 1900, he painted the market in Banska Bystrica again, but the picture is seen more spots and shadows.
