High School career

Fultz attended DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. As, a Sophomore Fultz competed on DeMatha's Junior Varsity Team. In his Junior year in 2014-15, Fultz averaged 16.5 points per game, 7.9 rebounds per game, and 4.3 Assist. In the spring and summer of 2015, Fultz competed on the Under Armour Association Circuit for the AAU team, DC Blue Devils. He averaged 18.6 points per game and 2.6 assist per game in 12 games on the Under Armour Association Circuit. He also played in the 2015 Under Armour Elite 24 invitational. He was later invited to the NBPA Top 100 camp and Adidas Nations camps. As a Senior, Fultz averaged 19.1 points per game and 8.8 rebounds per game while leading DeMatha to a Maryland Private School League Championship. Fultz was a member of the 2016 u18 Fiba America's Gold Medal championship Team. In addition earning tournament MVP honors. Fultz was a five-star recruit and is regarded as one of the top players in the 2016 class. He played in the 2016 McDonald’s All American Game playing for the East team. He played alongside the likes of Miles Bridges and Jayson Tatum against Lonzo Ball and Malik Monk. He also competed in the Nike Hoop Summit. Fultz committed to the University of Washington to play college basketball.

Washington Huskies (2016–2017)

He made his first appearance in a Husky uniform on November 3, 2016 in an exhibition game against Western Washington. Coming off the bench, Fultz tallied 14 points, seven rebounds, five assists, three turnovers, and one blocked shot in 23 minutes of play. In his college debut game, Fultz had 30 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists against the 2-0 Yale Bulldogs. After his only season with Washington concluded, Fultz announced that he would enter the 2016 NBA draft. He's currently projected to be a Top 2 draft prospect.
