Mark Hall Academy (formerly Mark Hall School) is a coeducational secondary school with academy status, located in Harlow, Essex, England. In 2012, 25% of all pupils attained five GCSEs at grades A* to C including English and mathematics. This is a decrease of 18 percentage points since 2011. The school was subsequently put into special measures by Ofsted. In 2013 just 27% of the pupils attained five GCSEs grade A* to C including English and mathematics. As of September 2013 the school converted to an Academy with Corinne Franceschi as its first Principal and Allan Osborne as Associate Principal. In 2014, the academy achieved 38% five GCSEs grade A* to C including English and Maths, an 11% increase on the former year's results. In 2015 the Academy further increased the GCSE pass rate to 46%. Within two years of becoming an Academy there has been over a 20% improvement. Ofsted visited the Academy in May 2016 and awarded the 'Good' grade with outstanding behaviour. The leadership of the Principal was described as inspirational.
