Marithé et François Girbaud, sometimes styled Marithé+François Girbaud, is an international clothing company based in France and owns by the colombian company Estudio de Moda SAS. It was founded in 1964 by François Girbaud and Marithé Bachellerie. These French stylists are well-known as the inventors of stone washing, baggy jeans and more.

In June 2012 it was reported that Girbaud had filed for bankruptcy and that its websites were down.

On 6 November 2013, it was announced that five stores in Paris, one in Lyon, and two in Belgium would be closed as part of a compulsory liquidation.

In 2014 two pop-up shops, open for less than two months, sold Girbaud products in the Hôtel de Villeroy in Paris.

In 2015, they created a new brand : Mad Lane.
