Marion Molteno (born 1944 Bloemfontein, South Africa) is a South African novelist. She won the 1999 Commonwealth Writers' Prize, Best Book, Africa. She won the 1993 David Thomas prize for A shield of coolest air.

Life

She studied the University of Cape Town, the University of Manchester, the School of Oriental and African Studies, obtained an MA from the Institute of Education.

She founded the South London Refugee Project. She was an advisor to Save the Children.

Family

She married Robert Molteno; they have two daughters.
