Marijana Matthäus (Serbian: Маријана Матеус, Marijana Mateus; Čolić (Serbian: Чолић); 27 September 1971) is a Serbian socialite, fashion designer, entrepreneur, writer and former fashion model. Marijana is founder, owner and creator of her Fashion line named Marijana Matthaus collection, as well as the founder and owner of Lux uniforms company for design, manufacturing and selling business uniforms.

Early life and education

Marijana Matthäus was born as Marijana Čolić on 27 September 1971 in Vrbas (SFR Yugoslavia then, Serbia now). Simultaneously with her elementary school, Matthäus enrolled in and finished music school and took dancing lessons. She developed her love for fashion at early age, after her mother took her to fashion shows in Belgrade. During her living in New York, Matthäus gratueted The Lubin School of Business in 1999. and University of Arts London- London College of Fashion in 2014. Matthäus has also a bachelor's degree in pedagogy.
Career
Marijana Matthäus started modelling aged fifteen, after she moved to Novi Sad with her family. However, she put her modelling career aside in 1990, when she married businessman Miodrag Kostić. Marijana was the creator and CEO of "Metro obuća", a major shoes brand in Serbia, from 1990 - 1996. In 2003, Matthäus opened her first boutique "My Style" in Budapest, Hungary, and another one in 2007, in Salzburg, Austria, where she was living with her second husband Lothar Matthäus. In 2009, she established her own design label, Marijana Class. Marijana's creative debut, fashion show, held at "Jacobs Fashion Selection" 2009, sparked enormous interest. On 1 June 2010, Matthäus presented her first line of swimsuits. The creations were worn by the competitors (???) of Serbian beauty pageant Miss of Tourism 2010. Her fashion show I Am Mariana, held on 17 March 2011 in the Hotel Moskva. In September 2011, Matthäus had an acclaimed fashion show in Terazije Theatre, representing her new line Black & White World. On 10 May 2012, Matthäus presented Flora fashion collection on the big stage of the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad. Later that year, on 5 December 2012, Marijana Matthäus held a glamorous fashion show in Hotel Moskva, Belgrade, introducing her collection Allure Baroque.

Serbian folk singer Svetlana Ceca Ražnatović and other celebrities such as Milena Vasić, Snežana Dakić, Sanja Marinković, Jelena Jovičić, Vesna Dedić, Katarina Radenković, Ksenija Mijatović and many other, often wear Matthäus' creations.
Marijana expanded her business operations in 2010. and established a new venture "Lux Uniforms" specialized for designing and producing custom, work uniforms.
In the end of 2015, Marijana created new hand made fashion label Andaj. This label, designed for English market was launched in London and presented for the first time to the media and clients in Westbury hotel in September 2016. These authentic pieces are crafted by skilled woman out of high quality fabrics such as cashmere, angora and wool.
Other work and ventures
In 2006, Marijana became the face of the Samsung football-themed TV campaign.

In January 2010, Matthäus was the part of organization of a humanitarian ball that was held on 29 January in Belgrade.
On 27 April 2010, Marijana released her novel Amouage.
Personal and media life
Marijana Matthäus married German football coach and former player Lothar Matthäus on 2003 in Belgrade. They separated in 2008, and the divorce was finalized in 2009 after year–long court case in Salzburg, Austria, over the division of assets. The two remained on friendly terms after the divorce, with Matthäus keeping the surname of her former husband. On 17 March 2011, Lothar Matthäus attended Matthäus' fashion show in Belgrade.
Matthäus currently divides her home between Belgrade, Budapest and London. Reportedly, she is fluent in Serbian, English and Italian, and is able to converse in Hungarian and German.
