Maria Hines is a Seattle restaurateur and James Beard Award-winning chef. Hines was awarded Best Chef: Northwest by James Beard Foundation in 2009 and Outstanding Chef semi-finalist in 2013. She is considered a pioneer of organic and Pacific Northwest cuisine, and was a notable proponent of Washington Initiative 522 which would have required labeling of genetically modified food.
