Early life

Born in Sacramento California, she grew up in Red Bluff California. In third grade she took up the fiddle. She said that it wasn’t until high school that she became “curious about songs, folk songs, and started writing and singing more.” In high school she tried her hand at the guitar and trombone. By the time she was sixteen, she focused upon the guitar. Her family are her “total cheerleaders”. “They’ve been out to visit when they can...and I call them for everything.”

Glaspy was able to get a small grant to study at Berklee College of Music and left rural Northern Central Valley of California for Boston. When the grant ran out after a semester, she stayed in Boston for the music. “People are dedicated to certain clubs,” she said. “There’s a little more dedication in Boston. People there are just music listeners where they have their day jobs and their hobby is to listen to music.” She spent three years in Boston. She became good friends with her then neighbor Bridget Kearney who introduced her to Rachael Price.
As many aspiring musicians, Glaspy moved to New York. She received a residency at Rockwood Music Hall.
Career
Glaspy has worked with several artists. In 2010 she was the lead vocal/guitar in The Fundies, which included Bridget Kearney(Bass/Vocals), Rachael Price (Vocals), and Brittany Haas(Fiddle/Vocal). They released an EP in June 2012 with the help of Club Passim's Iguna Project. In August 2015, Glaspy and Haas played together at Club Passim which was billed as a Fun With The Fundies.
Glaspy has performed with numerous acts, primarily performing back up vocals. These artists include Rachael Yamagata, Ricky Skaggs, Del McCoury, Tim O’Brien (musician), Rayland Baxter and Aoife O’Donovan.
Glaspy began her solo career by releasing an EP in July 2012 titled Homeschool.
She signed to ATO Records in 2015 and in January 2016 released a 7" EP which included "You and I" and "Somebody to Anybody". These songs were included in Emotions and Math.
She announced her debut album with the title track from Emotions and Math on April 5, 2016. A music video for her first single, "You and I", was released later. She self-produced the record, which was mixed by Shawn Everett. Prior to the album's release Glaspy toured with Rayland Baxter, Lucius, and Milk Carton Kids.
