Overview

The Marching Royals made their reappearance with the school in 2007 with a handful of dedicated music students at all of the high school's home football games. With the addition of the band director Brent Comeau in the summer of 2008, the band continued to grow and perform. They also combine with the two other high school bands in the district during the summer to form the South Washington County Marching Band. Their performances caught the eyes of many parade directors and contest organizers and were soon invited to perform in local parades, parade contests and invitational parades. The Marching Royals are now under the instruction of Mr. Tark Katzenmeyer as of Fall of 2013.

Annual summer parades

The Marching Royals combine with Park High School (Minnesota) and the newly formed East Ridge High School (Minnesota) in the summer and have been annually invited to 3 local summer parades. The earliest parade is the Cottage Grove Strawberry Days Parade in Cottage Grove, Minnesota. The second parade is the St. Paul Park Heritage Days Parade in St. Paul Park, Minnesota. The third parade is the Woodbury Days Grande Parade held in the band's hometown of Woodbury, Minnesota. As of the summer of 2010, the band has been invited every summer to participate in one of the daily parades at the Minnesota State Fair.

Fall shows

Once the school year starts, the band gets together to perform at all of the home games of the school's football team. Their performance consists of pep band music during the game and a field show during half time.

Special performances

Because of their good reputation, the Marching Royals have been invited to attend a number of special performances, including the Holiday Parade in Hawaii in fall of 2010, The St. Patrick's Day Parade in New York City in Spring of 2013 and at the Vikings/Brown game for a halftime show in fall of 2013. The Marching Royals recently got back from performing in the Waikiki Holiday Parade, in November 2016, along with the Park Marching Wolfpack, and the East Ridge Marching Raptors.
