Mararikulam (Malayalam:മാരാരിക്കുളം Hindi:मारारिक्कुलम ) is a beach village in the district of Alappuzha. Mararikulam is the fertile land of communism and it has a very beautiful beach which is known by the name Marari Beach or Mararikulam beach. There are two village panchayts for this village, Mararikulam South and Mararikulam North. Mararikulam North consists of parts of Mararikulam, Perunormangalam, Kanichukulangara, Beach, Poklasheri and Chennaveli. Location
Mararikulam is connected by rail and has a railway station by the same name. It is also well connected by road. NH 47 passes through S.L.Puram, which is 5 km to the east of Mararikulam. Nearest airport is Cochin International Airport(75 km). Sri (late). S. L Puram Sadanandan, Sri (late). Climate
Moderate climate in all over the year. Balanced tropical climate.It receives two monsoons; south west and north east. Average rainfall of 1100 mm.It is one of the most beautiful destination for the Tourist's who visit Kerala, and was rated as one of the worlds top five hammock beach by National Geographic survey. Most of them are living with fishing activity. They have a daily income of Rs 100-300. Tourism give also an income to the region. There is a beach in the Mararikulam village known as marari beach. The major fishing gear is the gillnet and thermocole as a craft.
