María Laura Falsini is a fictional character in the 2012 Argentine telenovela Graduados. She is played by Nancy Dupláa, both as an adult and, in flashbacks, as a teenager. She won the 2012 Tato Award for her work as the character, as well as a nomination for the Martín Fierro Awards.

Fictional biography

María Laura Falsini attended high school in the 1980s, graduating in 1989. She was the girlfriend of Pablo Catáneo (Luciano Cáceres), and left him when she discovered him cheating of her during the graduation party. She left the school with Andrés Goddzer (Daniel Hendler), and had sex with him in his car. She got pregnant, but thought that she was pregnant of Pablo Catáneo. Her father Clemente (Juan Leyrado) forced them to a shotgun wedding, to make sure that the kid had a family. She stayed friend with fellow student Victoria Lauría (Paola Barrientos).

María Laura Falsini met Andrés again 18 years later. A DNA test confirmed that he was the biological father of Martín (Gastón Soffritti), María Laura's son. The plots involving María Laura Falsini usually focused on her cheating husband, her renewed love for Andrés Goddzer and the secrets of Patricia Longo (Isabel Macedo), her father's new young wife, who was revealed to be her fellow student Jimena Benítez.

Character creation

The character was initially proposed to be played by actress Érica Rivas, who refused it. As a result, Nancy Dupláa played it.

Awards

Nancy Dupláa won the 2012 Tato Award for her work as the character. She was nominated for the Martín Fierro Awards as well, but did not receive it.
