Critical reception

David Jeffries, giving the album four stars at AllMusic, writes, "the rapper deliver the goods on this awesome debut." Signaling in a four star review by CCM Magazine, Grace S. Aspinwall realizes, "Raw, gritty, and enigmatic, this project from the ultra-talented newcomer NF, is an impressive effort", and calls NF "an artist to watch, and brilliance is sure to follow this beautiful, sometimes dark, and vulnerable project." Mark Ryan, indicating in a three and a half star review from New Release Tuesday, recognizes, "The album is a step in the right direction for the young artist and bodes well for future projects as he grows both lyrically and spiritually." Specifying in a five star review for Jesus Freak Hideout, Kevin Hoskins responds, "The only downfall here will be that some people aren't impressed by such raw, personal, and emotionally-driven rap, but that's exactly what makes this stand out among so many rap albums out today... This has 'album of the year' written all over it." Steve Hayes, delivering a ten out of ten review at Cross Rhythms, regards this as, "unquestionably one of the finest ever to emerge from the gospel hip-hop scene."

Christopher Smith, mentioning in a five star review by Jesus Freak Hideout, depicts, "Every thump on the kick drum, tender piano note, and chilling bow stroke feels incredibly intentional and inspired", which means "Simply put, NF's Mansion is a masterpiece." Mentioning in a four and a half star review by Jesus Freak Hideout, Mark Rice regards, "Mansion remains an utterly and helplessly enjoyable album from start to finish, and in this reviewer's mind, only those criticisms hold Mansion back from becoming a new gold standard of Christian Hip Hop." Scott Fryberger, panning the album in a three star review, derides, "Mansion features excellent production sound quality, and the beats are high quality, so if you can find an instrumental version, I'd suggest picking that up. Otherwise, if you're looking for some good new hip hop, skip this and pick up the new releases from Eshon Burgundy or The Battery." Rating the album three and a half stars for The Christian Manifesto, Calvin Moore states, "Mansion is a decent first outing by this Michigan native."

In a 4 out of 5 review at Christian Music Review, Abby Baracksai writes he is, "using his musical talent combined with his dynamic life stories and experiences to try and have you 'open your eyes' to the truth of Jesus Christ and what He can do in your life." Jonathan Andre, awarding the album four stars at 365 Days of Inspiring Media, says, "Mansion is a revelation- his energy infectious, rhymes catchy, lyrics encouraging and passion motivational." Awarding the album five stars for CM Addict, Michael Hackett writes, "NF's debut is nothing but outstanding." Philip Aldis, rating the album five stars at Louder Than the Music, says, "Understand this, NF's Mansion is massive." Awarding the album ten stars from Jesus Wired, Christopher Johnson writes, "NF's Mansion cannot be recommended enough." Giving the album five stars for Christian Review Magazine, Christian St. John states, "Mansion is a work of outstanding artistry".
