Mansfield District Council in Nottinghamshire, England is elected every four years. Since the last boundary changes in 2011, 36 councillors have been elected from 36 wards. Since 2002 Mansfield has also had a directly elected mayor.

Political control

Since the first election to the council in 1973 political control of the council has been held by the following parties:

Elected mayor

In May 2002 Mansfield voted to introduce a directly elected mayor in a referendum. The vote saw a turnout of 21%, with slightly less than 55% voted in favour. Since the first election in October 2002 independent Tony Egginton has been the mayor.
