Manoshi's first novel Made for Each Other was published in 2002. Her second novel The Stigma of Womanhood was released in 2005. Based on true events, the book deals with several crucial issues that are overlooked in a society. The author portrays the plight of widowhood in the white garb, especially in the Bishnupriya Manipuri community where most ladies shave their heads after their husbands' death just to become jocular showpieces of widowhood. Today, this practice is heading towards a decline. Apart from the novels, she has three authorship works to her credit, DGP English Improvement Course, A New Approach to Practical English Grammar, and Latest Selected Essays.
Her novel The Eighth Avatar, the first series of a Trilogy on Krishn, was launched online in June 2015. Blue Vanquisher, the 2nd part of the Krishn Trilogy series was released online on 11 July 2017.
Literary focus
Manoshi's writing is characterized by her simple language and her characters, often small-town men and women who navigate between modern and traditional cultural values. Her fiction is biographical that frequently draws upon her personal experiences as well as those of her parents, friends, acquaintances, in the Bishnupriya Manipuri community to which she belongs, and other cultures. Manoshi portrays her characters' struggles, anxieties, and biases to chronicle the nuances and details of societal influence. She is also a poet. She has composed hundreds of poems which are yet to be published. Until The Eighth Avatar, which is a historical book on Lord Krishn’s life, she focused mostly on the new generation Indians and their struggle in various phases of life.
The Eighth Avatar, published in June 2015, depicts the story of Krishn from birth to death, delving on every aspect of his life besides refuting the many myths associated with him. This is the first book of the Krishn Trilogy series. In her book, Krishn is depicted as a ‘Yogpurush’, the saviour, the protector, the Supreme Being, and an efficient ruler. He is described as a doting son and a one-wife man, married to Rukmini. The 16,000 wives mentioned in numerous books, is considered a myth. Radha was not his beloved; she was the commander of the army of lady warriors, all gopis, of Gokul. The Eighth Avatar uncovers many aspects that many do not know yet. Blue Vanquisher, Book 2 of the Krishn Trilogy series, depicts the life story of Krishn from his 14th to 85th year, refuting numerous myths associated with him.
