Career

Manoj Nair, a UK-Based serial entrepreneur, Founder and CEO of FinTech / PropTech (Real Estate) start up RedGirraffe.com. He comes from an army family background. Was born in Bangalore and bred in New Delhi. He currently heads a London headquartered FinTech / Real Estate Technology venture. He has recently launched its Financial technology and real estate operations in Delhi NCR area in India.

His company, RedGirraffe.com has been mentioned in Forbes as "India's $20 Billion Residential Rental Market And Its Tech Disruptor". With reference to the Indian market, this $20 billion residential rental market consists of $13.5 billion in urban, $0.8 billion in rural, and $5.7 billion in vacant Non Resident Indian property brokerage. It has attracted a number of property-technology start-ups aimed at solving this problem. By far in Real Estate space within India, this business vertical remains the toughest to crack. RedGirraffe.com apparently is said to have worked under stealth on the GTM model for 26 months prior to its Beta launch in India.

As a FinTech / PropTech company, it has steadfastly resolved to disrupt the unstructured RE industry purely in such countries where the delta between “How things must be” and “How things actually are” remains the highest. In other words, the company operates in such jurisdiction only where the current situation and prevailing actors within the RE ecosystem does not invoke “TRUST and TRANSPARENCY”. When it comes to on ground execution, the company relies heavily on John Nash’s amended version of “Game Theory”. It looks at the Problem and the multiple players in the market who are affected by the single un-bridged Gap and fills it via a “Hub and Spoke assembly” by becoming the most credible and efficient HUB. It endeavours to bring TRANSPARENCY within its operation heavily due to its closed wallet rental FIN-TECH play (RentPay) as well. RentPay is the first FinTech product of its kind that allows payment of rent via Credit Card and draws heavily into BLOCKCHAIN Technology for transaction and payment processing. It has been featured as a 'must-own-app' in the Indian context of cashless economy.

The company has signed up and technologically integrated with all the major national and international banks in India & United Kingdom. The company has filed patents in seven countries where it intends to launch the tech services of RentPay in due course. With the recent unprecedented act of demonetisation in India, the company is uniquely placed to serve an inundating demand for its services in India. Due to its Fintech-Proptech integrated cross play, the company believes it stands uniquely positioned to be able to serve its customers holistically (End to End). Several media outlets have already talked about this unique service offering. There are three more strategic inextricably interwoven vectors/verticals that complete RedGirraffe.com as conceived by its thinkers. The management at RedGirraffe believes that BLOCKCHAIN Technology, SMART-CONTRACTS & Mobile PAYMENTS would redefine this generation's relationship with MONEY & in this whole scenario REAL ESTATE would stand absolutely transformed.

The company has recently appointed Alan Rosling and S V Rangan to its Board of Advisors. Alan's focus will be on strategising clinical operational layouts and achieving revenue scale for its verticals. He will also be responsible for international institutional fund raising exercise for RedGirraffe.com. S V Rangan's agenda would be to augment RedGirraffe.com’s strategic interest within the United Kingdom and will be operating from the company's London offices. These additions to the team are expected to boost RedGirraffe's efforts in building a global brand and expanding the business beyond UK and India.

Manoj formed his first company that used to trade in captive diesel power plants in Delhi in 1998 as a young 22. That grew into a hugely successful turnkey solution venture (purely due to market entry timing) and he sold his stake in 2005. Later he became a civil servant with the Indian Government before going on to head an Asset Management Company in London. Manoj is actively involved in charity work and has supported Asian Voice Charity Awards powered by Charity Clarity 2016. The Awards are not only about charities which seek to solve the most pressing social issues of our time both in Britain and globally, but also for those that seek to innovate and strive for excellence and whose success is judged by their end results. Manoj is also passionate about creating and sustaining 'Markets without Barriers' and has signed the referendum backing Remain during the Brexit vote. As a former civil servant working directly on monetary policies, Manoj keenly observes and comments on the government policies, especially those that affect the Financial Technology and Real Estate sector. He is often featured in the online media for his views on how Asset Management Companies are operating in the current market conditions.

Education

Manoj holds a distinction in Electrical Engineering; Sat for Indian Civil services Examination 2005 with Masters in Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology and secured All India rank of 157. He was among the top rankers in the prestigious Indian Civil Service Interview that year. He is a Gold Medalist in Masters in Business Law and Taxation from NALSAR University of Law (awarded to him at National Academy of Direct Taxes, Nagpur) and is a High merit scholar (in dissertation and research papers) alumnus of London School of Economics and Political Science and Harvard Business School.

Personal life

Manoj is happily married to Shruti Nair (a professional architect) and has a son Dev (11 years old) and a daughter Dia (8 years old). He lives with his family in London. His hobbies include Horse riding, Sport Pistol (25 Meter), Travelling, Reading, Fitness and Music (Kishore Kumar sung old Hindi melodies and BBC weekly Top 40 UK being his absolute favourites).
