Mandwala is a village in Jalore tehsil of Jalore district of Rajasthan state in India. It lies 19 km to the north-west of Jalore town. The village has a government higher secondary school (for girls and boys), and a government hospital. Mandwala is the business hub of nearby villages and its people are known for their entrepreneurship spirit who have made their fortunes in cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi and Hyderabad.

Temples

It has the Jahaj Mandir (a Jain temple built in the shape of a ship). The main Jain temple named after Lord Sumathinath is over 60 years old and is located in the village square.

It also has Baba Ramdevji temple, Hanumanji Temple and many other Hindu temples. 4 km away lies the Lord Shiva temple known as Kailash Dham, a popular venue for weddings.

Nearest airports are at Jodhpur and Udaipur. Nearest railway station is Bishangharh, about 5 km away.

Notable people

It is the home-town of Late Sri. Mohanlalji Mutha, an eminent philanthropist and founder of M/s. M.M. Exports, Chennai, a leading firm in foreign trade. Its bisa oswal Jain population includes the Sonewadias, Dantewadias, Patwaris, Bhandaris and the Sanghavis. The minuscule bisa oswal population of nearby villages like Ovaloj have also made Mandwala their home in the past two decades.

During the pre-independence days, the local administration was vested with the Thakurs, the Kamdars (of the Sonewadia Mutha clan) and the Patwaris. After independence, most of its elite inhabitants migrated to southern cities - mainly to Chennai and Bangalore, where a sizable chunk still resides.

About 500 families are living on society have given Meghwal. Meghwal society produced by Swami Ramdev Baba's temple is located at the main bus stand. Badwa month full month is fair to the young. Similarly, in the village pond edge and also an ancient temple of Mata Sati.
