Malta has selected their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 through the Malta Song for Europe in Belgrade, Serbia. The contest received 225 songs (3 of which were disqualified) which would have been whittled down to just 35, but due to a tie between a number of songs, the second round consisted of 36 songs.     Sixteen entries were decided for the Semi Final on the 24 January 2008, all songs were performed and eight progressed on to the final on 26 January 2008, where the winner was announced. The winner who represented Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 was Morena with her song Vodka.

    At Eurovision

    The song received 38 points and placed 14th in the semifinal and so Malta failed to qualify for the final for the second time.
