Malghani or Malaghzai (Balochi:ملغانی) is a Rind Baloch tribe. They are settled in Derajat and Suleman region. Sokar is the hometown of Malghani Baloch tribe located near the desert of Sanghar in district Dera Ghazi Khan. Malghani is a very famous Rind Baloch Tribe. They are also settled in Koh-e-suleman, Loralai, Hassanabad larra and some in Chaghi Balochistan. Most of Malghanis living in Dera Ghazi Khan speak Siraiki language and those living in koh-e-suleman and chaghi speak Sulemanki Balochi. Those living in Sindh speak Sindhi.

History

When Mir chakar defeated Mir Doda in a battle at the desert of Sanghar. He built 100 Houses near Sanghar for his Family and his best fighters. Because house at that time in balochi was called as 'Kar' so he named that place SowKar or Sokar (Balochi: سوکڑ). This place is still located near Sanghar desert District Dera Ghazi Khan. Now this is the hometown of Malghani Baloch tribe.

Sardar Allah Yar Malghani was the once the chief of Nutkani Tribe. Sardar Aslam Khan Malghani (Sardar of Sokar) was a brave nationalist leader who fought against British empire.Sardar Bahadur Khan Malghani is also a well known person in the history who was a companion of Sardar Aslam Khan Malghani and later became Sardar of Hassanabad Larra.

Dada-e-Malghani

Malghani are the descendants of Mir Malagh Khan Rind son of Mir Notak Khan rind. Who was the grandson of Mir Rind and first cousin of Mir Chakar Khan Rind.

The subtribes of Malghani are,

  1. 1)The biggest sub tribe of Malghani is Perani which also called pherani and Mir Peer Bakhsh Khan Rind was the elder son of Mir Malagh Khan Rind'
  2. 2)Bhambani,Mir Bhamba khan was the son of Mir Chakar Rind
  3. 3)Shamrani Baloch,Mir Shahmeer khan Rind was the son of Mir Chakar Rind
  4. 4) Dadwani Baloch,Mir Daoud khan Rind was the son of Mir Chakar Rind
  5. 5) Hassikhail, a sub tribe who live in sokar.
