Mala Pareshan (1356-1416) (Kurdish: Mela Perêşan/مەلا پەرێشان‎) is the pen name of Kurdish poet Mohammad Abulqasim. He is one of the first Kurdish poets who wrote his Diwan in Kurdish.

Life

He was born in Dinawar about 1356. Mala Pareshan was a Shia Sufi and a member of Hurufism. He was a friend and disciple of Sheikh Rajab Bursi who was a mystic Hurufism leader in 14th century.

Poetry

His Diwan was first printed in Kermanshah in 1916 and then it was printed several times later in different places. His poems have a syllabic meter which is a common characteristics of Gorani or Hawrami poetry. Most of his poetry is in Kurdish especially in Laki and Gorani dialects. Noted classical musician Seyed Khalil Alinezhad used Mala Pareshan's poems in his music.
