Early life

Major was born in 1961, to father Jeet Singh and mother Dhan Kaur, in the village of 5KK Buttran in Ganganagar district of Rajasthan. He was the youngest among one sister and five brothers. He married to Sehajpreet Kaur and settled at Rampura in Punjab, and later the couple had two children, Navi and Jyoti.
