Paralympic Games

Scheffers took part of the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing. He won a bronze medal for the wheelchair men singles. He lost with Ronald Vink in the doubles the game for the bronze medal against Shingo Kunieda and Satoshi Saida.

Grand Slam

In 2011 he won his first singles Grand Slam at Roland Garros. In 2012 he won his second singles Grand Slam at the Australian Open.
