Star Cinema will be doing a remake of the 1996 film topbilled by then teen stars Jason Salcedo, Junell Hernando and Marc Solis. Magic Temple is a big success at the 1996 Metro Manila Film festival winning all of the 7 nominations including Best Film, directed by Peque Gallaga and Lore Reyes. Magic Temple then had a subsequel, Magic Kingdom, in 1997 courtesy of Viva Films and still directed by the tandem of Gallaga and Reyes.

Malou Santos stated that the Magic Temple movie remake topbilled by Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla will be done in partnership with Reality Entertainment and will boast of new special effects. Star Cinema is planning to make a movie franchise out of Magic Temple. A total of five films will be made under the Magic Temple franchise. The script is already on its first draft.

The expected first three films of the movie franchise are Magic Temple, Magic Kingdom, and Magic City. The first film of the series, Magic Temple, is expected to be released on the late quarter of 2014, a possible MMFF entry.

Magic Temple

Magic Temple will be based on the 1996 Filipino family-fantasy-adventure film of the same name, directed by the acclaimed director Peque Gallaga and released by Star Cinema. It was written by Peque Gallaga, Lore Reyes and Erik Matti. It is notable for winning all of the 7 nominations including the Best Film at the 1996 Metro Manila Film Festival. The remake is expected to be released on 2014 by Star Cinema.

Synopsis

The magical world of "Samadhi" is threatened by the evil forces of Ravenal and Sifu sends out three teenage boys to journey on the Magic Temple. Jubal, Sambag and Omar, each with their own unique power battles the threat to the world of "Samadhi" and along the way faces many extraordinary things. The boys are sure to face a huge battle ahead of them but with the help of magical creatures they met along their journey, evil is eliminated and they learn the true value of camaraderie and believing in themselves to face any problem.

Magic Kingdom

A sequel entitled Magic Kingdom was released in 1997 by Viva Films. Gallaga and Reyes served as directors while Salcedo and Hernando reprisd their roles and were renamed Jobert and Samuel respectively. Solis was replaced by Janus del Prado and was renamed Oman. The film is also notable for being the debut of Anne Curtis as Princesa Dahlia. The film also stars Jun Urbano as Amain and Mark Gil as Basilicus, the main antagonist.

Synopsis

The Kingdom of Damortis was once ruled by the kind-hearted Empress Sofia who was ordered to be killed by Basilicus, her brother who has a great desire for the throne. Princess Dahlia, heir to the throne escapes with the blind singer Mico. Amain and his warrior trainees, Jobert, Samuel, and Oman are tasked to protect the princess and save Damortis from the evil forces of Basilicus.

Magic City

Magic City is the upcoming latest sequel of Magic Temple, not based on the respected films. Malou Santos mentioned "Magic City" as one of the five upcoming film series of Magic Temple. The last two of the upcoming film series is yet unknown. It is expected to be released on 2016 by Star Cinema.
