Early life
Margaret Throup was born on 27 January 1957. She graduated from the University of Manchester with a BSc in Biology.
Political career
Throup stood for Colne Valley in 2005 and for Solihull in 2010, narrowly losing each time.
Throup has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Erewash since May 2015. Throup was opposed to Brexit prior to the 2016 EU membership referendum.
