Maga.Tamizh Prabhagaran (also spelled as Tamil Prabhakaran) is a young Indian Tamil Journalist and documentary film maker.

Early career

After his completion of Bachelor in Information Technology, he turned as a journalist. He wrote political articles in leading Tamil magazine 'Junior Vikatan'A group of Vikatan, Since 1926. After few months of his degree completion, he went to War zones of Sri Lanka in 2012. During this time, he was investigated by a group of Sri Lankan Army officials in Elephant pass. After he returned to India, he wrote a series articles titled as 'Pulithadam Thedi'(Tracing the Mark of Tiger – A Journey of 25 days in bloodstain Lanka) in Junior Vikatan.

Book

His book about Sri Lanka is the first book about post-war situations of Sri Lanka with field study. This book is released in Tamil. The book is foreword by Anti-Nuclear activist S.P.Uthayakumar and it's released in Idinthakarai where the protest is going on against Koodankulam Nuclear Power Plant.

Interview of Irom Sharmila

On November 2013, he took a case against the Manipur government regarding the arbitrary restrictions to meet Irom Sharmila, who had been hunger striking against the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 for about 13 years. After twenty days of legal battle, he meets Irom Sharmila. The Manipur High Court passed an order directing the authorities concerned to grant him permission to meet Sharmila according to Assam Jail Manual which is also applicable to Manipur.

Arrest in Sri Lanka

In December 2013, he went to Sri Lanka second time. On his fifth day of visit (25 December 2013) he was rounded-up and arrested by Sri Lankan Army. After he was detained for three days in Colombo by Terrorist Investigation Department. During his arrest Tamil Nadu get shockened, and gave voice for his release. Newyork based Journalist group 'Committee to Protect Journalists' also condemned his arrest. Tamil Nadu Political parties leader MDMK Vaiko,DMK Karunanidhi,VCK Thol.Thirumavalavan,PMK Ramadoss, May17 movement Thirumuruan Gandhi and Tamil diaspora movements also ask for his immediate release from Sri Lankan Army custody. After the pressure from various sides including from Indian government he was released and deported to India on 28 December 2013.,

Film about genocide of Tamils

He has directed a documentary film titled as This Land Belongs to the Army. This film shows the brutals of Sri Lankan Army and landscape of today situations in civil war ended Sri Lanka for first time after 2009 war. This film also exposes the Sri Lankan government's policy of Sinhalisation and land grabbing, through a brutal army of occupation.

It also features new testimonies from Tamil genocide victims and an exclusive interview with a Sri Lankan Army officer, who confesses to the indiscriminate use of chemical and heavy weapons against the Tamils in 2009.
