Madoryx oiclus

Madoryx oiclus is a moth of the family Sphingidae. It is known from Suriname, French Guiana and from Venezuela to Costa Rica. It has also been recorded in Paraguay, Argentina and Bolivia.

Description

The wingspan is 76–93 mm.

Biology

Adults are on wing year round.

The larvae have been recorded feeding on Rehdera trinervis and Crescentia alata. The last instar is cream colored with dark brown and black mottling on back and sides. Pupation takes place in a dark rust brown cocoon often with incorporated leaves
