Madison Junior-Senior High School is a public high school near Middletown, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Madison Local Schools district. The school colors are red and white.

Madison's sports teams, known as the Mohawks, participated in the Fort Ancient Valley Conference from 1979 until 1984, when the school left for the Southwestern Buckeye League's Buckeye Division, which consists of smaller schools.
Athletics
Madison Jr/Sr High School has had several state champions in the history of the school. They have won 7 state Individual champions. Madison has come close to winning a team state championship twice. (1969 Men's track and field team and 2010 girls basketball team both runner up). Madison's first state champion in 1969 was Richard Enright for the men's discus. Madison's second state champion was Mike McGee in 1976 for golf. Later after high school, Mike played in the PGA Tour and played in the U.S. Open and other major golf courses. Madison's 3rd state champion was Greg Gephart in 1983. Greg won in wrestling at the 185 weight class. Madison's first women's state champion was Jenna Nance in 2004. The year before Jenna was a runner up in pole vault then the next year was state champion and broke the record for Pole Vault in the state at the time. Madison 5th state champion and 2nd wrestling state champion was Patrick Lanham in 2005 and won in the weight class of 140. Madison's next state wrestling champion is Nick Svarda and won it in 2015 at the weight class 195. Madison's 7th state champion Coty Cobb in pole vault in 2015. Coty not only won state, he also broke the record for the division 2 which was 16'6.25 which was the 4th best in the state of Ohio. Madison has had 2 player of the year basketball players in the school history. Shay Richardson in 1995 was player of the year in basketball and is Madison's all-time leader in points. Ally Malott was Gatorade player of the year in 2010 and went to play college at Dayton. Later Ally was drafted 8th in the WNBA in 2015 by the Washington Mystics. Madison has had a great athletic history and hopes to keep having a great history for years to come.
Shooting
On February 29, 2016, four students were injured during a shooting in the school's cafeteria. Two of the victims were hit by bullets and the other two were injured by shrapnel. The suspected shooter, identified as 14-year-old student James Austin Hancock, fled the scene, but was later tracked down by police dogs and arrested by officers. He was charged as an adult with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of felonious assault, inducing panic, and making terroristic threats. The charges were later upgraded to four counts of attempted murder and one count of inducing panic. On June 6, Hancock was sentenced to six years in juvenile detention. The victims' families later filed a lawsuit against Hancock, his family, and the state on July 3. In it, the suit alleges that Hancock's parents entrusted him with the gun used in the shooting, and that the weapon was registered to other relatives who failed to properly secure it.
