History

Originally mSupply was developed for use at the Medical Supply Department in Kathmandu Nepal. In 2001 Sustainable Solutions was formed to provide an organisation that would support and develop mSupply for use around the world. Currently mSupply is used in over 20 countries.

Functionality

At its core mSupply handles the receipt and issue of medicines, vaccines and related products, tracking each batch individually, allowing the application of FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) principles. From this base it has been expanded to handle procurement (tender management, demand quantification, management of purchase orders) and dispensing (tracking issues to patients, recording prescribers, and producing medicine labels that include directions for the patient).

Free non-commercial use

Since release mSupply has been available for free for use by not-for-profit use in developing countries
