Career
Asif made his acting debut in the 2012 Tamil film Thuppakki opposite actor Vijay. Asif played the second in command of the sleeper cell under the direction of AR Murugadoss. Thuppakki was the highest grossing Tamil film of 2012.
His second Tamil film Tamiluku En Ondrai Aluthavum also stars Nakul and Attakathi Dinesh. It was released on February 20th 2015 and is a Super Hit at the Box Office. The film is about a disaster where a magnetic storm hits Earth. Due to this, communication around the globe gets affected. The lead characters in the movie face problems because of this communications failure. How they survive and come out of this problem, forms the story. The movie is directed by Ram Prakash Rayappa. Thaman has scored the music. The movie is produced by VLS Rock Cinema. Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies will be distributing the movie.
He subsequently played the role of a naga sadhu/warrior in the Hindi/English film Kamasutra 3D directed by Rupesh Paul. The film release is scheduled for 2015.
