MAN NL262 (A27) is a low-floor single-decker bus made by MAN AG from 1992 to 1998. Although predominantly produced for Hong Kong in right-hand drive operated by Citybus, some were made in left-hand drive for the mainland European market, it was still built within the similar MAN NL202. It was succeeded by the MAN Lion's City.

Contents

It has a rounded roof dome similar to the MAN NL202 with a double-curvature windscreen with a separate destination blind and a full low floor layout similar to the MAN NL202 that its rear seats are mounted on platforms.

Operations

It is currently in operation with New Lantau Bus and DBTSL in Hong Kong after they were notable as second hand buses, former Citybus buses.

Citybus

Citybus is the launcher of this bus. All 80 buses all in total were ordered as 1501-1580.

Two NL262s were written off by fire and traffic accident. The first one is (#1512) was destroyed by fire on 1 November 2008, at Island Eastern Corridor on its way back to the Depot and withdrawn prematurely in 8 May 2009. The second one is (#1560) was damaged by a traffic accident on 17 January 2011, at the branch road near the Hong Kong's side exit at Western Harbour Crossing and withdrawn prematurely in 21 February 2011.

New Lantau Bus

5 buses all in total (ex-Citybus 1576-1580). They were allocated to routes 37, 38.

DBTSL

10 buses all in total (5 were second hand buses, former Citybus 1570-1574). They were allocated to routes 4, 7, 9, 9A, DB01R and DB03R.
